Field of Flags
St. Charles Veterans Center honors missing Vietnam War Soldiers through Langum Park flag display during the celebration of Constitution Week.
Thank you to all the volunteers who erected over 1,500 flags in the Field of Honor and attached dog tags representing each MIA and POW all provided by True Patriots Care, a non-profit group dedicated to supporting those who have served.
This year National POW/MIA Recognition Day was observed on September 17th. This day was established in 1979 through a proclamation signed by President Jimmy Carter. Since then, each subsequent president has issued an annual proclamation commemorating the third Friday in September as National POW/MIA Recognition Day. Annually, Constitution Day and Citizenship Day are observed on September 17th.
